Dr M's Minimum Pay:"Pay Peanuts,Get Monkeys"

Because Dr M, on his blog ( chedet.cc/blog/?p=712 ), does not understand the economics of minimum pay, and the proverb "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys", I take it upon myself to educate him and his UMNO Baru before he kicks the bucket.

1)  Dr M said :
1. We all would like to see Malaysia become a high-income country. However we must also be concerned about our competitiveness. Increasing incomes must raise the cost of production unless there is a corresponding increase in productivity.

Pak Yeh says:
Everybody wants a high income. But you give high income only to to cronies with monopolies, while the workers are given monkey's pay, that is considered below slavery standards.
Hence most Malaysian workers migrate to get a decent mans wage, and Indonesians,Banglas come here to get "monkey's pay".
Competitiveness depends on high pay to workers too.
Learn from the proverb,."If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys".
If you pay peanuts, all good workers will finally run away to your competitor.

2)Dr M said :
2. But already we are having far too many holidays. To the 52 Sundays, have been added, 52 Saturdays. We now have holidays for the holy days of all religions, however small the followers. We now automatically replace any holiday which falls on Sunday or Saturday with another day of holiday. When we work a lesser number of days our productivity must decrease. So it will not be easy to increase productivity with the increase in minimum wages which will trigger pay increases throughout, so as to maintain the parity between the different grades of the employees. Working during holidays will also cost more. So will contribution to EPF and rates of pensions.

Pak Yeh says :
Holidays are higher quality of life.
A higher quality of life gives greater work performance and higher productivity.
How come you dont know anything about Total Quality Management.??? Let me be your consultant.!!!

3) Dr M said:
3.Between higher pay and shorter working hours, plus all the other costs, the cost of production of goods and services must increase considerably.

Pak Yeh says :

Yes. But you can reduce the Director's pay and reduce exhorbitant profits. You can even increase workers pay by giving profit sharing and bonus. That is how Cina does it. Look east man.! Just like you said it.!

4) Dr M said :
4.Once, during the Government of a previous Prime Minister, a 25% salary increase was given to Government servants. There is no evidence that Government revenue had increased by 25%. The normal increase is about 10%. What this means is that the increase in operation costs due to the 25% salary increases have to be met through reduction of allocation for development. Reducing needed development is not going to be good for a rapidly developing nation.

Pak Yeh says :
Who is this previous Prime Minister.?
All Prime Ministers before you never mismanaged the economy.
Only you Dr Mahathir mismanaged the economy,
Proof.. Ringgit devaluation by 150% based on original dollar to dollar rate to Singapore and Brunei. ie RM 300 is now only RM100 in real value and of S100 Singapore dollar.
Increase in pay can be offset by increasing price of good/exports.
Why you dont understand pricing in economics.???

5)Dr M said :
5. The West today is in great financial trouble with at least one country going bankrupt. The reason is simple. The West has been overpaying their people. High wages and salaries, huge bonuses and numerous costly benefits such as unemployment pay gave the developed West an appearance of prosperity. But their profligate ways is not sustainable.

Pak Yeh says :
The west is doing fine.
The reason why some western countries go bankrupt is because their Prime Ministers have plenty of scandals/corruption. They pay their cronies maximum pay/high wages, like you do. That is why they go bankrupt. It is not because of minmum pay lah.

If it is because of minimum pay, how is it all advanced and Super Powers give not only minimum pay but dole/social security.
What.??? You no read world economy ka.???

6) Dr M said :
6. Faced with competition from eastern countries, they lost their markets. For a time they benefitted from the financial markets. But the financial market is about gambling. And as happens with all gamblers, they must lose eventually. And that plunged them into this intractable financial crisis.

Pak Yeh says:
There is no competition if you can ban or impose taxes on imports, or if you produce higher quality goods.
About gambling in financial, like you did loosing RM30 billion of Bank Negaras money,.. That is haram.!!!
When are you going to pay back the RM30 billion.???
If you dont pay, you definitely will go into hellfire.!!!.
Please learn more about economic policies.Dont just listen to Capitalist economist. Learn from Communist economist too.

7)Dr M said :
7. This is what happens when wages and compensations for work are not accompanied by increases in productivity. I fear Malaysia may be heading this way if we pay more for less work, as we are doing now.

Pak Yeh says :
Aiiiyaaah.!!!
Why pay more for less work.???
Is that the UMNO/BN gomen's moto.???
Pay more for more and quality work, by giving quality pay.!!!
You must learn Total Quality Management.!!!

The Japanese are the best at this.I learned from them too.
You must also learn about Socialist/Communist economics too.
No nation can be totally indeperdent/merdeka without implementing Socialist/Communist economics.
Tun Razak understood this.

Tun Abdul Razak did look east/learn from the Mao Tze Tung of Cina.
You (Dr M) just talk of "look east", but you are always looking west, at Mageret Thacher's boobs, probably.

I hope you have learned something from this debate.

Note : Your economics is kantoi/a failure/short term planning.. Malaysia was bankrupted by your Bank Negara forex gambling and overspending on KLCC/mega jobs..!!!  Your "extreme Capitalist economics" is short term.ballon/inflation  economics and zalim/cruel to workers and is bound to fail.!!!

That is why the ringgit is 1/3 of Singapore dollar. Shame on you Dr M,.. loosing to handicapped Singapore who has no oil, timber, kelapa sawit and even water.
That is the reason why we must have a change in government or a revolution.

May Allah make you (Dr Mahathir Mohammad and UMNO/BN) see the truth and make you "taubat for your sins".!!!

Howdy, Salam Pak Yeh,

what he spewed is no longer relevant - copy and paste from books - preaching one thing and consistently doing tons of garbage

heard about monkeys being paid obscene salaries - hardly doing any mental work in the plushest offices while the companies are bleeding ?

what works is every diligent, Malaysian employee deserves to be paid with meaningful monthly wages with perks, meaning after deducting the payment for all the bills, he / she has some savings. Particularly the middle income earners and the marginalized communities from the pockets of KL cities, to the rural areas to those in the interiors of the Penans, etc in Sarawak and Sabah. And a more than a fair distribution of the wealth from their natural resources, with sustainable economies to their communities in Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor, Sarawak, Sabah which are rightly theirs !

Anything less is the monkeys have collectively and systematically plundered them ! And certainly hundreds of thousands of people have allowed it. Enough is enough !

Thought about high income Korea, yet its citizens are flocking to KL cities, and elsewhere in search for green pastures ? what, how, are the implementation of the transformation ? with competent apolitical people with integrity and accountability ? with the active participation of the People who are both directly and indirectly affected by it ?

Cheers Pak Yeh. Hope all is well with you and your influence to impact many to vote ABU.

Salam Pak Yeh
In positive response to your responsive
and great ideas as follow:

Pak Yeh says :
Holidays are higher quality of life.
A higher quality of life gives greater work
performance and higher productivity.

As oppose to Mahathir’s modern slavery mentality
similar to that of Koreans’ of demanding employees
work long hours daily until there is no time for fathers
to be fathers to their children, help raise children and
instil discipline and nurturance with their spouse.

What does he know about working hard or conscientiously
daily to feed the families as regular Rakyat, yet many have
to obtain loans ? he ? ? apa nama - he is elite ..aristocrat.

With wear and tear of the human body, and after given the
best part years of their lives, in late middle age, they face
ailments – and the exorbitant medical charges at private
hospitals – siapa ada interest ? And for those could hardly
afford, what is the latest medical scheme by compulsion ?
what a wastage of tax payers’ money to pay for all the
researches done !

Pak Yeh says :
Yes. But you can reduce the Director's pay and reduce
exorbitant profits. ( Brilliant ! )
You can even increase worker’ pay by giving
profit sharing and bonus. That is how China does it.

Profit sharing and bonus will cut into mahathir’s stakes
in his vast interests ?? In fact if will increase productivity
as employees are being appreciated and aligned to
their respective companies.

I strongly suggest most employees should work only
8-9 hours max five – day- week or saturdays - half day.
The rest of the hours and weekends are filled up by
part-timers by Malaysians Only :
single parents, senior citizens, and college students –
paid good hourly rate of rm 10 min 3 hrs.

I don’t see why a gourmet espresso café can charge
rm 8 – 10 for a regular coffee but unable to pay
rm 10 an hour to its part-timers with courteous service
to All customers? Ayoh, Only patronize those restaurants,
cafes which pay good wages to all their employees, and
have a good percentage of part-timers as well or those
cafes which support our farmers with a decent
monthly income.

he said the west have been overpaying their people.
Ha ha ha true, overpaying the directors, bonuses with
cholesterol stocks !

The US regular employees, they get decent wages, reasonable
working hours. Their government leaders will have to pack
their briefcases, or send in resignation within hours or three
- four days max.

The informed and responsible employees. Their responsible
bosses certainly do not want to jeopardise their company’s
reputation built Not on boleh in the Bolehland !
There, the laws walk hard, clear and swift ! he thinks
we are fools, uninformed ??

Malaysians bloggers are informed, just that many are
unassuming. Depending on what and the brand of food
brains they feed.

Pak Yeh says :
The west is doing fine.

Vote In For the Best of Things against all the
grafts, nation's debts incurred, arrogance,
indispensability.

As for Mahathir, just be quiet like Margaret Thatcher !

Thanks for your inspiring comments anonymouse1&2.Many still cannot see truths.Peoples economics is Socialist and Communist economics. That is how you get total merdeka. Right now the Corporation are holding or Prime Ministers by their balls. But ofcoures with lots of corruption money.

Salam Pak Yeh, Thanks to You,

Anonymouse has moved the cheese to you and the Rakyat ha ha ha.
The moment socialism and communist economics are mentioned, leaders holding on to their lifeline will use sensitive issues, one of which is patriotism to pump the adrenaline of fear and stir up fury among many people, causing more porak-peranda and disunity which is really bad for the nation.

The communist system has its failures too exposed in animal farm by george orwell.

Definitely absolute power corrupts. Stringent checks and balances benefit the Rakyat. Hence we will stay clear from that path which will benefit them, hence let’s GPS the talk to the benefits for the Rakyat.

Communist economics as practised in China had its many reforms,
one of which- no one starved. As in Malaysia, we certainly do not
want any rakyat from the middle income group to slide into near
poverty. Dan adalah kejam membiarkan golongan miskin Melayu,
orangasli, India, Penans, Cina yang belum tentu kais petang, makan
petang setiap hari berganti tahun, berganti dekad.

In recent years, we have seen the discrepancies that the rich in
China are getting richer, same as in the States, in the UK and in India.

Ini tidak bermakna kalau ada kepincangan dalam system mereka,
kita serah kalah. Sebaliknya kita Ambil Yang Jernih. Buanglah nilai-nilai mereka yang keruh. Buatlah yang terbaik untuk make positive changes to empower diri and others to good values and to empower others

Pak Yeh, you surely have better ideas in regards to True Democracy :

- corporates practice social reponsibility ( i would strongly recommend, we Rakyat insist corporate responsibilities- the plural form - in support to giving them businesses and making wealth. Which is fine,so long it is not window- dressing, but conscious, consistent and long- term social responsibilities ones,
inclusiveness of all communities in Malaysia.

As oppose to the “ semua boleh ”economics.

Mohom maaf, mungkin silap penggunaan bahasa, lama di perantaunan mencari cheese. Thanks.

Mahathir made many of us leave because of his stupid ideas like BTN, forex gambling, NEPotism, cronyism, etc. We had to leave to cari makan elsewhere. We were and are (have to be) highly productive to survive in foreign lands.

You are right when you said if you pay peanuts, you get monkey.

Pak Yeh,
ai say, the ruling government goons are giving wage increment
to the civil servants to fish their votes come GE 13 ! Don't the civil servants realise that it will come from " hutang-piutang negara " and the nation is bleeding ?

The top civil servants aside, in good times or lean times, they will always be well-off.

As for the rest, their celebration will be shortlived and their children and cicit will be slaves, slogging to pay for their basics : privatised education, privatised healthcare, escalating inflation, ballooned loans, etc.

With the global economic uncertainty, even SIA had asked its pilots to volunteer for unpaid leave for up to 2 years. The economic uncertainty will have great fallout affecting our nation, the civil servants' salary increment, i'm not against, but the private sector staff slogging daily for the small and medium enterprise will suffer the brunts :

- depreciating of their monthly salary and escalating inflation
- some many loose their hard-earned jobs to feed their families

With the highly " insane " rent and overhead charges, with poor / stiff competition and volatile environment in business, how can S&M business people stay afloat ?

Just take a stroll in KLCC or Pavilion, how many new business replace the failed ones every few months ?

To pay their monthly office rent, wages and utility bills on time is one big issue. What more to give the private sector employees an inrement ? By which the private sector employees deserve a wage increment equally or deserving it all the more because the hundreds of thousands Malaysians, all, all work so hard to meet daily deadlines, deadlines, deadlines and monthly targets in ensuring their respective company makes profits.

This in turn affects their income tax contribution to the Rakyat's coffers - already bleeding.

With GE 13, both civil servants and employees of the private sector and business communities must VOTE OUT, uproot all culprits and their respective spouses of :

which dear Pak Yeh, you have spoken up vehemently in your other blog on :

- mismanagement of money
- mismanagemnet of resources
- abuse of power
- failure to serve the voters' expectations in every constituency
- unstoppable corruptions
- cruelty inflicted on kugan, ahmad sarbani and teoh beng hock,
- etc

ai say, it is quite difficult to fast, but will certainly pray GOD help us, unite us against all the above, not to be blinded anymore, not to be indifferent, or be self- centered anymore...unite us to Vote for the Best of things.

I agree with you, Pak Yeh, the nation is not mature yet for a third force. I admire Zaid. However, I dread others may create the third force just to upset and not as diplomatic, fair and solution providers.

An accountable two-system government with integrity. Much appreciation and thanks. Salam, Pak Yeh. Mohon maaf sebab tulis banyak.

Apakah maksud saudara "hadis" tu?

You are wrong.Read the book again.
It was Nepoleon who was a counter revolutionary(a capitalist) who changed and made it a failure.

You obviously do not understand Communism.
Cina has becom partly Capitalist since Deng Ziao Ping who was a counter revolutionary.
A nation cannot be independent of colonialist because of the Capitalist system. Only by changing the economic system can a nation be truly independent.
That is the only reason why colonialist are at war with Communist.
The enemy of your enemy is your friend.!!!

Pak Yeh jawab:
Woi.! Mana ada akau kata gitu.
Hadis yang saya maksudkan adalah Quran yang keluar dari mulut nabi Muhammad.Rujuk Quran 38:23 "I have revealed/wahyukan ahsanal hadis, the book in which there is no doubt..."
Allah melarang Muslimin berimankan lahwal hadis(hadis Bukhari/Muslim dlln).Rujuk Quran 31:6" Ada orang guna lahwal hadis(hadis olok2 Bukhari muslim)untok menyesatkan orang lain dari jalan Allah, tanpa pengetahuan dan jadikannya(jalan allah/Islam) bahan tertawa."

Harap anda faham penjelasa berbuktikan Quran ini..

Troll said...

Terima kasih atas penjelasan pak yeh.
Mungkin saya tersilap pandang.

O messenger, do not be saddened by those who increase in
disbelief from among those who said: “We believe” with their
mouths while their hearts did not believe. And from among those
who are Jewish, there are those who listened to lies; they listened
to people who never came to you; they distort the words from
their context, and they say: “If you are given this, then take it, but
if you are given anything different, then beware!” And whoever
God wants to test, then you will not possess anything for him
against God. These are the ones whose hearts God did not want
to cleanse; in this world they will have humiliation, and in the
Hereafter they will have a great retribution.(5:41)

Mereka yang dengar cerita mengarut, dicerita oleh golongan yang tidak pernah bertemu pun dengar Rasul.

Terima kasih atas penjelasan Pak Yeh

their context, and they say: “If you are given this, then take it, but

Nyata usaha membohong hadis nabi telah wujud di masa nabi maseh hidup, apa lagi di masa nabi wafat 200 tahun sudah, seperti kitab Bukhari Muslim itu.

Dear Pak Yeh,
Napoleon was more of a visionary leader and an utterly
corrupt opportunist. Both Napoleon and Snowball were tyrants, the latter being the dominant. Boxer, the Horse, epitomizes all of the best qualities of the exploited working classes with a naïve trust in the good intentions of the intelligentsia leadership.

However they were smokescreened and incapable to recognize even the most blatant forms of leaders with absolute power.

Definitely never ever communism.

True democracy with new leadership, integrity, accountability, transparency, social responsibilities, competency, justice, inclusiveness, visionary
and frugality is the way we as a nation must forge forward.

You are right, the enemies of the robbers is ones’
friend provided they have integrity.

When is GE 13 ?
The delayed election is sending the pulse racing and the
adrenalin pumping !

Time is a luxury to discuss in detail as in a political
class and I respect others should have access to your meaningful blog. Thank you, Pak Yeh.

Pak Yehs reply :
I think your opinion is based on a the anti religion aproach of some Communist leaders.
Communism should be appreciated in its pure "We/everyones" economics, and not in its leaders atheistic ideology.
Perhaps you would rather we call it a Socialist economics/ideology that is theistic and more liberal, which is the mother of Communist economics/ideology.
Either way both Socialist and Communist economics/ideology is the enemy of Colonialist/Capitalist.
Hence we should make friends with the enemy of our enemy.
Do away with government/British/colonialist propaganda that socialist and Communist are evil.
They are saying that because only through Capitalism will the colonization be continued.

Salam & Good morning Pak Yeh,

In regards to my response to you on Sun Mar 11

I agree with you, Pak Yeh, the nation is not mature yet for a third force, however, there is an exception.

Having thought thru yesterday evening, how could I be stupid and forgetful that there is an exception - the exemplary, highly qualified and most sincere leaders of PSRM serving the neglected multiracial Rakyat.

They are certainly the 3rd force with such integrity, such commitment to lead and assist the Rakyat regardless of race and cultures. The voters in their respective constituency must Vote Them In again.

Infuriated tax payers' contribution is not allocated to them ?

I strongly think that all the PSRM leaders and committee members' children should be given scholarship as they have contributed too much of their time, energy, their hearts and mind, even their own contribution to serve.

It is real injustice the most sincere leaders who fought for justice, get the end of the yardstick of justice, huh ?

Recalling a professor in Oxford, a few years back, lamented that he had spent all his life to educate the best of the world, but he and some of his colleagues' children got the end of the yardstick as university education has gone beyond affordability. Only children of the elite, corporate figures, the wealthy and powerful have easy access. Since the past few years, even in Harvard and the prestigious universities in the US are beyond the reach of children of the middle income segment and commoners, who are certainly highly intelligent - but without the big money, in some cases, without the power and apple polishing resumes and near perfect academic scores. Things must have changed for the better for them.

Our local universities, too, deserving students - hardworking, smart, committed to improve ones and communities' lives - from the hardcore poor, low income families from the interior, the kampong - that includes students from the poor and average income families in cities having to get loans ?

Not talking about recalcitrant show offs with big bikes, with pak / mak wers or blackberry, more FB than studying and serving communities.

Right on, dear Pak Yeh -

Pak Yehs reply:
I can live with that. "We" economics here we come.

Yes VOTE so wisely with all the statistics, informed decisions, injustice visuals vivid in our mind mind and self-restraint high emotions !

Reaping the cheers of the jubilant victors - the People !! The ecstasy.

Socialist/communist parties were banned because they are threats to Capitalism, the tool of colonization. PSRM although legalised recently is still unknown and a late comer in the pakatan Rakyat. However PAS and DAP is adopting some Socialit ideas.
Our mind must be deprogrammed from thinking like the Colonialist/Capitalist. If they hate the socialist, then we must love the Socialist
